About Buddha Babe
For nearly a decade, Buddha Babe has been responsible for providing Phillie babies with some of the freshest styles around. Tina Dixon Spence opened this creative shop in 2014. Originally started as an e-commerce store, the business gained its first brick-and-mortar location in 2020. The 1,600-square-foot store features beautiful products as well as a makers’ workshop where people can come and learn to make their very own items.
Whether you’re there for the classes or just to shop around, you’re going to adore your time in the shop. Tina is a mother herself and has worked to make a center that lets you celebrate your little one with fantastic items your family will cherish for years to come!
Products
The shop sells handmade items created with love. Their clothing features adorable patterns printed on organic materials. Most of the clothing is made right here in Philadelphia by some of the best designers in the city. Because there are only a few of each item made, you can be sure your child will be rocking outfits unlike any other.
Their swaddles are printed on organic cotton gauze and feature exclusive designs. And the bibs at Buddha Babe are so popular for a reason. You can find incredible designs with beloved mascots like the Eagles and, of course, Gritty.
The store carries toys and books created by local Philadelphia residents. From hand-sewn dolls to beautifully illustrated books, it’s the perfect store to shop for a gift.

While their products are undoubtedly fabulous, their classes are the best part. At Buddha Babe, you can sign up for a class to learn how to make your own masterpieces. The store has classes for adults as well as for kids. Your child will love spending multiple weeks learning how to sew at the shop’s sewing camp.
You can also register them for a kids’ free sewing class for ages 7-13. The shop is the perfect spot to host a party for your little creator.
